  • I operate a 48 hour cancellation policy. Late cancellations and no shows will be charged at the full cost of the appointment.

  • Acupuncture is one of the oldest systems of healing in the world that works by stimulating our bodies own healing mechanisms and processes. During an Acupuncture session, specific points that have high concentrations of nerve endings when needled will work to trigger biochemical and physiological changes in the body. Meridians or channels that run along the body are where our ‘Qi’ or ‘Vital force’ flow. When we have an imbalance between Yin and Yang, Qi can stagnate and get blocked which is when illness, pain or states of ‘dis-ease’ can arise. Acupuncture helps to re-establish the flow of Qi, through harmonising Yin and Yang and bringing the body back into a state of Homeostasis. As the body and mind are not separated in Chinese Medicine, anything that is treated with the physical body will benefit the mind and vice versa.

  • That depends on the individual and how long the health issues have been happening for. Acute issues can usually be resolved in a couple of treatments, while chronic issues will typically take a bit longer to resolve and may need a couple of months.

  • Acupuncture needles are very fine and thin - some of them as thin as a strand of hair. It should not hurt but you may feel something called ‘Deqi’. This is a feeling a patient gets when the needle inserted has activated Qi on an acupuncture point. Common sensations around an acupuncture point when the Qi gets activated include: pressure, heaviness, dull ache, tingling, and warmth.

  • Acupuncture has been used for thousands of years to help treat all kinds of conditions from stress and anxiety, to digestive and fertility issues as well as musculoskeletal problems, headaches and much much more!

  • It’s ideal to have a light meal one hour before coming and to carry some water with you. Loose and comfortable clothing are good but you can wear anything you want as I will have blankets to cover you.
